A DRP Rating is a measuring tool that indicates a person’s current playing ability, from 1 (beginner) through 8 (professional). It can be used to track their progress as they develop their skills. An accurate rating should give players access to level-based competition, ensuring a positive experience.

The Rating Program

The Rating Program consists of a series of targeted visits to the oche, with each dart being aimed at a specific segment of the dartboard.

Visits 1-7 target each Single segment on the board (1-20 and the 25). Players earn 1 point for each target they hit. Trebles and Doubles of the intended target count as misses.

Visits 8-14 target each segment’s Double on the board (1-20 and the Bullseye). Players earn 3 points for each double they hit, and 1 point if they miss into the single of the targeted segment.

Visits 15-21 target each segment’s Treble on the board (1-20 and the Bullseye again). Players earn 6 points for each treble they hit, and 1 point if they miss into the single of the tareted segment.

The maximum possible score is 210 points.

The Rating Session

Players obtain a DRP Rating by attending an officially-sanctioned DRP Rating Session at a local darts venue. Rating Sessions are conducted by DRP-approved proctors who are responsible for facilitating a successful session.

Players complete the Rating Program three times during their Rating Session. The average score of their top two results are used to determine their official DRP Rating.
